Happy Christmas
At this festive time of year we wish all of our customers a very Happy Christmas and a very Turkey filled New Year!
This is a very odd time of year. The evenings draw in and the rain just seems to keep on falling – it a rain thing!
We all gather the family around to celebrate the birth of Christ by eating Turkey and marking His birth at a time which was a pagan festival. I mean no religious implications by this just that it is an odd time of year.
Our Norfolk Black Turkeys are going from strength to strength. Yes thats right they are still alive!! They are our prime breeding flock so we need them for the New Year. Someone has to keep the breed going into 2010 and we will be ready to sell our poults in 2010 for those discerning enough to appreciate the quality of the Norfolk Black.
We did slaughter a few surplus Stags recently and a few local friends will be lucky enough to sample our superlative birds. We were very proud of the quality of our birds when we saw them in their slaughtered state! They were excellent! They are now reposing in a cool house for 10 days to give even more flavour to their meat.
Our Turkeys are the very best in the market today. They are traditional in their configuration, they are traditional in their composition and they give a traditional flavour – yes flavour, something missing from most commercially grown Turkeys. Norfolk Blacks are the very best that you can buy. Ours are grass grown, free range and fed on organic feed – its already looking like a good 2010!
Happy Christmas from us all at Over the Stile.
