The hens for sale are available in a range of colours – buff, red, speckled, silver and white – at Longbourn we specialise in Buff Sussex standard birds.

Salmon Faverolles hens are the sweetest little
birds with muffling from below the eyes and chin which forms a creamy white beard. They have a cream front, thighs and lower body with the remainder a shade of pale salmon brown. Their legs are short and stout and sparsely feathered to the outer toe. This particular breed of poultry will lay up to 180 tinted eggs a year.

Salmon Faverolles cockerels are very proud, colourful and flamboyant. The beard and muffling are black, the neck and hackles straw coloured over a mahogany back and shoulders. The rest of the body is black with a beautiful black / green / blue iridescent plume of tail feathers – highly desirable !
